Can a comet 40 series be used with this motor? I would like to use an 8" driven and like the bigger belt. If not how well will a series 20 torque converter work? I am using a comet fnr and really need the spring side of the driven facing inwards for mounting purposes. That makes the 30 series my last choice. The cart will not be too heavy but will be used offroad.

Could #35 chain and sprokets be used or are they too lightweight? It will most likely have dual trailing arms with chains.

Thanks in advance!

You can use a series 40 as far as I know, but it will be overkill for that engine. If you are planning to upgrade to something larger than a 8HP in the future, then get the 40 series.

I am not too sure if the 40 series can mount on anything smaller than a 1" shaft, so you are going to have to check that out first.

Using a #35 should be fine, but for peace of mind I would go for the #40.

Thanks for the info! That's what I was hoping. I found a 3/4"-1" adapter on eBay for like $20. It's a sleeve with a key way and includes the proper key.
I was just worried the 212cc didn't have enough power to properly operate the series 40. My real problem is I am mounting my comet fnr above the crank case of the motor and a series 30 puts the fnr too far over and the chain off the output hits the motor. But a 40 or 20 look like they just might work.
Thanks again!

Thanks for the info! I just picked up the HF 212cc. Quick question how much hp does it have? I see 6.5 on here but the website and guy at the store say 7 hp? He said the California model is 6.5 bc of emissions Restrictions but the standard model is 7. The receipt actually says 7 hp on it?????

Also if it put a cone air filter, better exhaust and bigger jet how much hp gain can I get???
Thanks in advance!

Apparently the predators are a little more powerful that the old HF blues, so it is probably closer to 7HP
