Can someone tell me if this will work. Im going to build a garden tractor using a truck 3 speed tranny and rearend but will the covert hooked up to the tranny work.I no it can be do using a belt clucth setup.But im looking for something better,:thumbsup:

I am not too sure about that. To me it just sounds like you want to bolt a 3 speed gearbox to a torque converter which in itself has variable gear ratios. IMO I don't think it would work well, but wait for someone with a bit more knowledge to answer as well

If you are going to use it as a real garden tractor, then this type of torque converter will not even come close to what you need. You might want to research some of the old cub cadets. They used an automotive type rear end connected via an automotive type clutch with a shaft drive.

The system should work fine if done properly. My Allis Chalmers Gleaner combine runs just type of setup, with the only difference is that I have full manual control over the belt position, independent of engine speed.

And yes, it has a three speed manual tranny with a separate mechanical clutch.

Thanks guy for the info I guest ill go with a belt clutch set up if its good enough for a old john deere it should work for me.
