Anyone know what the tolerance or specific measurement is on a hub or bearing that would go on a 1 inch axle?

Trying to figure out if the axle is exactly 1 inch... or if the hubs are 1 inch. Assuming one of them is less or more by .05 or something.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Hello,

Thought I'd help with your question. Look up bearing bore tolerances. Then look up the axle material tolerance. This could be 1018, 1045, or 4140 and a material called stress proof. 1045 TGP (known as turned, ground and polished) will hold your tightest tolerances. The difference between the two is of course the clearance. It will only be a thousandth or so.
