Hey everyone, I was just wondering what size tires I would need for more of an offroad cart, and where I could get them. and I'm not asking for links. Off What appliance or something like that, could I get the proper front tires off of?

I was thinking like a dolley or something... cuz I don't want them to be too small, but also not too big, I was thinking anywhere from 10-13" tall?? Any ideas?

One more question,

I'm making a live axle and if I buy a keyed shaft I'll definately go over my budget, is there a way to make it all work out without the keyed shaft, perhaps welding the sprocket to the axle or the tire hubs to the axle, even tho then I wouldn't be able to take anything off.....

any ideas?

Not a good idea.

Another way I can think of making it work without keyways is to drill and ream (important that the holes are reamed) holes in the axle and hubs, and secure them with AN bolts.

Find the local scrap metal yard in your area. Some of them will let you buy junk out of their yard by the pound..... unfortunately, some do not.

I happen to live next to one of the best scrap yards I've ever seen. They have every classification of leftover junk, including an area the size of the average suburban yard full of dead riding lawnmowers. Anything I want, for 20 cents a pound. I'll be shopping there when it's time to build the next project!
