tires vs clutch

what is largest size tires I can put on my kart? 212cc pred motor with cintr. clutch, cart made for adult fun. my other has 22x11x8 but has t.c. thanx

If your gearing is 6:1? 15" tall.

Gear it low enough and you can theoretically run stupid big tires. Jack shaft needed. The bigger the tires, the more resistance , drag, rotating weight, friction, ect. Dont expect to go fast with 22in tires with a one speed clutch pushing adults.

im thinking like my old dirtbike, bigger axle spocket more power less speed, correct? 15s are ok but how do I tell ratio like 6-1 etc?

Divide your axle sprocket count by clutch count.

Example: 60 tooth axle, 10 tooth clutch : 60÷10=6...so...6:1.

and you are also correct in your Dirt bike thinking. Like...

80axle /still 10clutch= 8:1, more "low end" power and yep, less Top Speed.

That low end power will allow you to run taller tires. and the taller tires will give you back some of that lost Top Speed.
