Hey i need a new tire but the problem is that my right tire is a Knobby tire and my left tire is a Knobby also. But the left tire wore down real bad and i can see the threads so i have to get a new left tire ASAP. I am thinking about changing my tire to sawtooth sense i will be riding on the pavement more.

Will it be fine if i have one knobby tire and one sawtooth sense my knobby tire is only a few weeks old.

I am also wondering is sawtooth tires good for the pavement? Will they last way longer then knobbys?

saw tooth may last longer, slicks?? my common sense says as long as both tires are the exact same size there should be no difference other than a bit more grip on one tire than the other, which would prob be okay unless your going like 40, also one tire may wear faster than other, and they may sound different.

So i should get slicks? Because i am doing mostly pavement riding and alittle dirt.. But nothing really heavy.. Just light trails. But i notice my fronts are wearing down fast because the pavement.

Yeah i was thinking about getting slicks. But then again slicks might just spin out in the dirt. But my gokart is 1wd so i will have threaded on the back and slicks on front.

I was thinking about sawtooth but slicks will last alot longer sense the rubber is stronger.

yea i would go with slicks too if it were mine on the front

Then i would find some turf tires for the rear.

Try to find some wider tires that way they wont were out in one spot as fast.

Thats a good site r97 came up with. They got a bunch of tires to choose from and their cheap.

Yeah thats what i am thinking about doing.. But i cant find anything bigger but i am not sure if it will fit on my rim..

I am also wondering if it says tubeless will a tube work? Because my rim is tubed

yea you can put a tube in any tire.

As a matter of fact thats what i do to all my old dry rotted tires and run them.

I am not a fan of split rims but i would definetilly run a tube in them.

Yeah thats what i thought.
I am going to go with this. This seems like my best deal for 2 tires. 29.05 shipped.
if you have a split tubed rim you could prob put in a spacer for a wider width. http://gokartnminibikeparts.com/tires_&_tubes.htm, you may also need new rims, http://gokartnminibikeparts.com/whee...ccessories.htm
Yeah i was looking at those sites. It is kind of pricey.. Tires are not cheap : /

Dang. So the tires i posted from ebay are slicks correct? Because at my local scooter shop they sell slicks for 25 so if i get 2 it will be 50 just for 2 tires.

u may have already sorted this topic out

but if the drive trye is wearing out cant u just swap sides so the worn one is free wheeling and the good one is transmitting the power

oh bugger
u could just ship a new one in and while u wait just run the tyre till it pops, as long as u dont go too fast

Was going to do that also. But i don't wont to pop the inner tube because if i pop the inner tube there's more money. Because my rims are tubed..
If it is a single wheel drive convert it to a live axle.

That way the tires won't were as near as much.
Yeah i am going to do that, because my friend just got a welder. But that is all in the process...

The tires i posted from the ebay link. Are those good? They look good to me and they look like they should last on pavement :)
