In the past I've been very dissatisfied with the Carlisle slicks. So for this kart I bought the sawtooth tires (4" front, 5" rear). Suggestions for tire pressure? I'm running about 7.5 psi +/- in the front and about 20 in the back, trying to reduce low speed understeer.

20 yikes.
Thats rock hard riding.

Id run like 3-5 in the front. By feel really. Just so they hold shape but you can still push your finger on the tire and it squish.

Rears maybe 5-7. Same idea just a little firmer.

Is that a live axle or a one wheel peel.

A live axle is hard to turn on pavement no matter how you go about it.

Yes, live axle.

I don't recall, but the 4" plastic front wheels have on them, "MAX - 20 PSI". The metal, 5" rears say, 50 PSI

Oh, I meant the tires bro. But the fact that wheels/rims have a pressure rating on them is newfangled, at least to this dumb guy (moi).

Tire pressures can be a real bear to check on split rim wheels and their inner tubes, due to the way the valve comes out of the center of the rim or between the spokes of a Tri-Star and the valve is loose and not rigidly mounted to the wheel rim in the way that tubeless wheel valves are. In that same way, it is hard to fill the tubes with air because the valve is loose and you have to secure the valve or press on it from behind so the air chuck will work, a two-handed affair.

Your mileage may vary.
