Hi all,

So this weekend we will finally be testing our sno-kart 440 (custom race kart powered by a 440cc liquid cooled two stroke out of a snowmobile). We know that tire pressures are very important so we'd love to get some ballpark figures.

The tires we have are Maxxis ELs (http://www.maxxis.com/Industrial/Kart/EL.aspx)... 6.5" wide in front and 10" wide in rears.

As hard as we tried to get good weight distribution, the back definitely has more weight on it due to the engine being fairly heavy and behind the driver (see picture). We don't know the exact weight distribution, but I'd estimate that the kart w/driver is about 500lbs, of which 300 is probably in back and 200 in front.

Based on this, what would ya'll recommend for F/R tire pressures? Thanks!

what diameter wheels are those? I'm new to karting and trying to build a custom one in the near future and i like those size wheels.

I just posted the figures in your thread...

Those in the know recommend 15psi but, I think you'll need a bit more than that in the rear; try 25psi & see how you go.

I would also have some extra weight handy to drop on the front of that beast...
