I'm new to this so if this needs to be moved feel free.

How difficult is it to change the tires on a go kart wheel? I've changed motorcycle tires with irons and was wondering (before I tried) if that was a viable option. I've got 6" up front and 8" in the rear. Thanks!
Or should I just find someone with a HF tire changer?
Next up; axle bearings!

If you can change bike tires, you can change kart tires. Same principle, same application, different dimensions. There's a fistful of bead-seating tricks if you run into trouble. Go for it!

One piece rims. Two piece sounds too easy!
I guess my worry is that I have run into issues with a few different back tires being really stiff and was not able to get them stretched over the rim. I eventually had to take it to a shop to get put on.
My fronts seem pretty stiff. I guess I'll just take my tire irons in and give it a shot. (They are in my shop at school)

I have to sand and paint the rims before installing the new tires. Any leads as to an inexpensive place to buy tires?

yea putting them on is easy compared to taking them off. even with old hard ones. if your junking the tires its easier if you dont have to worry about chunking up the bead. some can be a real struggle for sure. lubricant helps . big screwdrivers tend to work better on these small rims because they can fit in smaller spaces. take small bites
