Crazykart,

online? Or must you call them to get the 10%?

Is there a list available of other discounts such as this?

Thanks

Please ignore my lack of tire/wheel/hub experience. I would like to make sure I am on the right track.

So I thinking for the front wheel which using a azusa 3/4" spindle. I found this
set of wheel and tires 145/70-6 but I think these are 5/8 wheel bearings...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Go-kart-ATV-tire-and-wheel-assembly-145-70-6-kd14576fla-/331001709454

get new spindles but was hoping for the 3/4" size.

Any thoughts?

Thanks Crazykart,

Budget is not big, but not so tight not to get the correct parts. I just plan for it a few weeks out. I did noticed only a few
40 "complete kits" vs 30. Most of the parts for to 40 were in
non-kits, I will need to search some more.

I made some great progression on the frame this week just waiting now for Friday parts to arrive from 2 vendors. So it will
start to come together and start to look like a kart vs a pile of
steel in the garage.

Why don't you start a build thread for your kart. You are asking all these questions but not showing us what you are doing

It looks like it has become that way... I will need start a new thread in the project build to see my progress. I did more welding tonight and and got the "header" up front attached that will had the A-Frames to the suspensions. I took a picture tonight
which I will need to post.

I am getting better in the welds, since I had never weld 3 weeks ago. But I figure
no better way to learn than on this kart.

:iagree: a build thread, even if it takes months/years is a lot more helpful to both us and yourself.

As for your questions.

I woukd think the discount can be used either way, but to make sure you can message the member gopowersports here and ask.

I do not know of any other place that gives us discounts sadly (I wish there were more, we bring these companies large amounts of business! Lol)

You will do what you want in the end, but my opinion is that going to 14" tires in the front (which is what thise are) is backtracking.

Why put 14" tires up front and only have 6-7" of ground clearence especially when you're putting 18" tires in the back FOR the ground clearence??

Go with the same size all around. Iiwm I woukd nit go any smaller than 18" tires for the offroading you will be doing. Any smaller and you're cheating yourself.

You can get 8" rims that will fit that 3/4" spindle, albeit the ones I've found are a bit expensive: https://www.bmikarts.com/mobile/8-Spinner-Aluminum-Wheel-3-wide-34-Bearing_p_3281.html. though others may know a cheaper route. Honestly though you would pay less to get an 8" 4 on 4" rim and then get a hub that has a 3/4" id bearing and 4 on 4" bolt pattern, if you can find them.

Don't cheat yourself, go the same ground clearence bith front and back. You wont do much offroading with only 6" or so of clearence...

Don't worry about questions as I do like to help when I can. Remember though that doing research yourself will help you better understand as well my friend.

Crazykart,

If I understand correctly its best to make a new tread under project/gallery?

Thanks for the advise. It make since now to have the same size 18" on front and rear. I believe I will be good on the turning by having 9" from center point of the front stearing to front edge of cart.

I was reading and research way to late last night on tires and rims learning more along the way. If I understand correctly most
people use live axle hub with key in the rear only. With folks in the front using a wheel with a bearing. Or is it simple personal
choice to do it either way?

Thanks again for the help.

You can make a new thread here in go kart discussion, I'm sure that would be fine.

So 9" of bumper room basically? Sounds fine to me.

Keyed hubs are for the rear on a live axle yes. You can either use rims with bearings for the front or you can get hubs with bearings and bolt the 4 on 4" rims (rims with lug holes) to those hubs. That would be more of your personal preference tbh, both ways have their merits.

Most smaller karts use regular bearing rims for the front, and usually most larger karts use the hubs and the front rims have lugs, but you could find 8" rims with bearing if you wanted to go that route yourself.

Either way though I believe is acceptable.

Not a problem, we're here to help. I just happen to have just finished doing all of this same research myself recently so it's all fresh in my mind lol.

Crazykart,

If I use the steel ATV style wheels AZ1004 which is a 8 X 5 7/8 Rim. It uses a 16X650-8 tire no tire in that 6" wide size made to gain that 18" size because of the rim size.

So with this discovered going with a 16X650-8 in the front then the rear AZ1005 7" wide usins a 18-850 or 18-950.

So the question is the 6.50 width in the front is that no wide. I am concern because
of the size for off road dirt turning. Or would it be recommend to jump down to the 8" X 3.75 RIM?

As long as you design enough space for your turning radius you should be fine.

I myself am using an atv suspension for the front, and am using 8" wide tires, and expect no problems because of the room in my design.

I think you should be fine with those tires up front.
