I have been itching to build a kart for myself and not the kids this time. The bank account is healthy and Momma finally gave me the A-OK to have a little fun.

I bought a one seat Ken-Bar streaker frame and plan to use it for my base. I am thinking about stretching the front out 6-8 inches just to add a little bit of leg room.

I am open to thoughts and opinions on what to do. What engine, gearing, wheel and tire size etc. I think I want to but some HP in it just to carry my weight. However, I am asking the forum for their ideas as well.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Just keep in mind that the longer you make it, the more awkward the steering and handling is going to be

Only if he extends the wheelbase, the frame can be longer, especially the front end for legroom.:

nice looking frame

Do you have room for a 420cc with Torque Converter ?

Have you considered if you want big wheels and tires or smaller slick types ?
Off road or dirt track. That Streaker single seater suggests low profile slicks bada** to me.

What color ?

More pics. By all means show us the bare frame and what you have and/or are going to reuse.

Maybe take a side view photo, and if you've got the resources can manipulate it in Photoshop, or whatever less professional software is available, even Microsoft Paint. I mean as far as wheel sizes and general layout. Ayy, even some pencil drawings.

Their "Manco American Express 2.0" is kind of what I envision for you. Bare bones, but built for speed.

Do what Carroll Shelby did and drop the largest engine you can on it and call it a day. Modify the engine as much as you like and have all the fun you can, all while making your neighbors jealous!

I think he should do the Predator V twin, to be honest. Or some twin cylinder engine, just for some much needed variety.

Yeah it looks like two bungy cords holding it more in place.

I'm getting 40mph from a stock Intek 190 with a TAV2... Its not the fastest thing off the line, but it goes along pretty nicely. I weigh just shy of 200# but the kart is very light. I haven't weighed it yet, but I would guess it to be in the 100-120# range.

Streaker is a pretty good sized frame. I'd find the biggest meanest motor you can, and stuff it on there.

I still haven't started working on it as of yet. I am still in my planning phase and loving all the input. I don't plan on lengthening the wheel base. I am just thinking of adding a couple inches to the front when I turn down the vertical bow and sliding the pedals out another inch or two.

I thought about going for the small tire / low look like FastEddie did with his AmEx. But I'm not sure. I think it would require some modification welding in new bearing hangers lower than the original to get the rear axle down. I was talking to my brother about it the other night. I'm thinking I could "sister" steal plates to the existing bearing hangers and drop them down. But may require some bracing since they would be 2 1/2 inches or so lower. It's a four bearing set up. Where the bearing hangers actually tie the frame together.

I was also thinking that 13hp would have enough torque to get me going and reducing the main gear down from 72 to 55 or so. With a 10T or 12T drive sprocket.

The previous owner has already fabricated a bracket for a TAV. Not as clean as I like. But the idea is in the right direction. I think I am going to rework a similar set up with a 40 series.

Going to take photos once I get it back from media blast. As for all the background garbage in the shots....I have no idea. I bought this frame off of the LetGo app in Kentucky and had my brother haul it down to Alabama.
