Picked mine up from my buddies dad who retired in 03. Didn't drive it much. Picked it up in 2018 for $6,000. No body rust, just same frame and undercarriage from sitting in garages. Just turned a 100,000 miles a few months ago. Those 5.3 engines seem to be bullet proof.

I got pretty good at Heater cores in 99-04 grand cherokees. Book says 12 hours. I could do it in 8 hours. Entire dash has to be removed. Floor trim and A-pillar trim. Steering wheel dropped. Seats removed. Center console. Then the dash module. After all that then ac and heater lines on the fire wall under the hood.. Then you can take the hvac box out and split it open. Service the door foams while your there.
There one 10mm bolt hidden way up behind the dash. Thats the hidden one no one tells you about.
Got good at the radiators too. All the bumper and front and inner facia have to come off just for 2 screws that can't be reached other wise.

Retired Master auto repair tech here. I drive a 1989 Silverado 4x4 and a 1990 Toyota Tercel. I have a huge tool box full of diagnostic tools and special tools to disassemble overengineered garbage that I will never use again. Wifey drives a 09 Camry.
I recently had t add refrigerant to the Tercel. I keep R134 on hand, so I pulled the gauges out and opened the hood to find it still had R12 in it after 35 years. They don't make them like that anymore. It is carbureted and has a 3 speed automatic without OD.

My 86 300zx had left over r12. I always wonder if it still worked. I just assumed it didnt, never checked and just removed the AC.

I think about over engineered modern HMTs all the time. *Homogenous Transportation Modules. I was going to say as practical men we could dispense with modern cars and revert to an 80’s or earlier car with a V8 and carburetor. I will call this “Uncle Tony’s Garage wisdom”. I didn’t expect our high school guy to say the same thing. 
I personally don’t need these modern electronic contrivances nor a large LCD screen on the dash. A/C as well as a radio are both pretty much a necessity. Air bags would be nice too. In fact your
phone could be the entertainment center, you can already play tunes and navigate with it.
UTG talks about all that and the “complex, nearly unfixable modern car”. I think he has a few videos where he puts a modern carburetor on a previously fuel injected engine…
I label all my fuel jugs with a Sharpie and a piece of tape.

Red is GAS, yellow is DIESEL and clear/white/translucent is 2 stroke. I can even tell the mix ratio in the white container. These should never be used in the wrong applications. I do use 2 stroke mix when reviving barn finds and breaking in recent rebuilds, but that's just my overly cautious nature.
Mixing 2 cycle stuff in a red can when an illiterate teenager can possibly pour it in your equipment is a sure sign of poor judgement or insanity.

I have all my gas cans labeled. Got a 5 gallon for ethanol free, a 2.5 gallon for ethanol free, and a 2 gallon for 50:1 mixed for chainsaw and weed whip.

Really? I've known this term for the better part of my 33 year life on this orb. String trimmer just sounds weird. Weed eater is okay, but weed whip just speaks.

I'm smack dab in the middle, Midwest.Weed whipper since I was a kid. Must be an east coast west coast thing.
Weed whipper or weed whacker, I've used both.
Technically Michigan is Midwest, so East coast Midwest thing. Nebraska is true Midwest. IMO
