Im putting a B&S Tiller engine model#12012 0360 E1 on a kart for my son. This engine has no throttle cable assembly at all. I am going to have to fab up the whole thing. Anybody have any ideas ,pics, links, etc, they could help out with?

From what I see in the pic, you do have a throttle assembly, you just need to modify it to suit your needs...

If I'm wrong, for those of us unfamiliar with this particular engine, can you please post pics of the carb & existing throttle linkages...

I have a similar engine. There is or should be some sort od throttle linkage under the tank. I found mine to be weak and rebuilt it. If nothing else there is at least a bolt there you you can make a the throttle. I will go take pics of mine and post them in a little while.

Correct. There is linkage under the tank. What I meant is there is no remote cable linkage, so I must fab up something. I am getting closer . I have the cable now, I just need to fab up a small bracket and attach the cable. Is there any reason I cannot attach directly to the carburetor?

Ok I am not sure why you cant go direct to the carb but if I was to guess. It has something to do with fulcrum. The carb throttle only moves 1/2" but with the lingage you get a 2 or 3 in. range of motion. Also I think a heavy left foot directly attached to the carb would brake it.
Any way looking at your pick. If you loosen the locknut that the linkage rotates on then it will move freely and should spring back to the closed position. This allows for a gas pedal to work. Originally I hooked a my throttle cable from the pedal to the little hand throttle that is existing on your motor. Just be sure to add a return spring so the engine returns to idle when you let off the gas. In the stock application (with the nut loose) the only throttle return is the governor spring.

On my engine. I removed the Governor. and relocated the fuel tank (this is not the engine "Itsid" linked you to on your other thread) I found my stock linkage to be weak and bend. So I traced it shape onto some steel. and cut it out, drilled holes and a curved slot in the neccesary places. Check out these pics, ask me any questions you like.

Thanks. Im glad you said something. I would have attached directly to carb and surely broke it. LOL. Thanks for posting the pics. Ill post some more when I get it going. How difficult was it to remove the governor. Im pretty sure that is in my future.

I read the 3 articles posted here http://www.diygokarts.com/vb/showthread.php?t=10036e:
There is not one that perfectly matches this OHV Briggs. But enought to get the point. I had the cam gear come out accidently, So I had to ask the forum how to line that up, It was really pretty simple. You will want a new gasket for the side cover. There is another How to on this site AGK.com https://www.affordablegokarts.com/index.php
They have great how tos and they sell parts too.
