This question is about the throttle cable on my gokart, AND about two chute adjustment cables on my snowblower.
All these housings have tight bends in them, like 90° turns that cause excess friction and accelerated wear and tear on the housing.
Now I'm actually a mountain biker, and back in the day they made a little pulley you could put on your shifter cable so as the cable came out of the derailer, it could do a 180° loop around the pulley instead of a tight bend in the housing. And it worked, it would make your shifting noticeably smoother and easier with much less friction.
I wonder if one of these would work on my kart's throttle. It seems like it would work well for that use. However they stopped making these years ago because derailers no longer have a cable input that's on the wrong side of the bike
It definitely would NOT work on my snow blower. These pulleys I'm talking about are not fully enclosed, so plenty of snow and ice would get in there and foul things up on the snow blower.
So I'm wondering if there are any other solutions, potentially sealed solutions. Like maybe something as simple as just a bent stainless steel tube that can go between the cable and the item to be adjusted, so the cables can make nice smooth tight turns without causing problems.
