Hey everyone i need some advice,
I am in the market to buy a new tig welder and plasma cutter hopefully all in one unit so that I can do some mods to my bike and go kart.....I have spoken to some of the bigger companies like lincoln, miller, harbor freight and they are a little to expensive for me at the time so I was wondering if anyone had any advice on where to look for some affordable but reliable welding companies???

Thank you

best plasma cutters
hypertherm, thermal dynamics, just behind them are lincoln, miller, esab

everything else will be "affordable" not necessarily reliable.

Best welders: (do you even need a tig? why not MIG?)
miller, lincoln

everything else will be "affordable" not necessarily reliable.

i have a miller spectrum 375 plasma, and a miller maxstar 150STL tig welder, hypetherm is better than miller in my opinion.

If you buy a cheap version of plasma cutter/tig welder, dont expect it to last for years and years. If you use it occasionally, then it should not be that big of a deal. Have you looked into the EVERLAST brand? That might be what you are looking for as far as price goes.

As far as the tig...
Why not get a scratch start setup. All you need is a good old buzz box tombstone welder and a tig rig(with AR/co2 regulator), and gas.
Cheaper by a few hundred$$$. Just as good to Learn and do good work with.
