thunder cart needing advice

I have a thunder cart and would like to know how to get a let more out of it... how much will tire size effect speed? how much bigger should I go? I'm at 13x5 on the rear...

Tyre size is one variable that greatly affects speed; have a read through this for a better understanding of how... What is the current gear ratio?

I would say get a torque converter but, I see that's not really possible on this kart so, what I will say is get yourself a hi flow air filter, breathing in is just as important as breathing out

intake is coming in the mail... just waiting on it to come in... 54 tooth sprocket? I know it's not a 60

Increasing tyre size could put too much strain on your clutch nd fry it. What size are you thinking of going to?

I'm not to sure what size tire to use... I have an intake, been rejetted, and exhaust... 10 tooth clutch and 54 tooth sprocket... what is the ideal size tire I can use without burning up the clutch but have a good top end speed?

You're running the same as what I'm running..... I'm hitting 42-45mph, but I have no governor and im running up to 6200-6400rpms..... My clutch is just fine.....
Oh, I only drive on the street...... And I'm on a 13" tire......

I wouldn't go any taller than 13"

I have the same setup. Im not de gov'd but I did do the wire trick. Other than that its all stock and I still hit almost 45mph. Im changing to a smaller driven soon. Ill report how that turns out. I've been playing with several different tq styles and so far nothing will fit without frame modification. Got a few other changes in mind for it too. Good luck. And plus one for a thunder kart!
