Throttle linkage

Hello everyone I have come up with the idea to try and make my first throttle linage for kart's without Governors.I came up with the idea after looking at the one that was on my kart it seems so simple 1 bolt 1 nut one piece of metal 2 bends three holes one compression fitting and done.

I used the pieces from the governor linkage to make my throttle linkage. Cost me 20 minutes..... Works good too. I'll post a video if you want, of it working on that engine but different kart. Has a nice exhaust sound.....

Yes....You can get them from Home Depot. Now. ..if you are long on money and short on time....that'll work. .....

However.....you can buy polishing kits that have several in them....plus other stuff from Harbor Freight or Tractor Supply for about the same money as two brushes from HD.

And then there's online. ....but IIRC...HF was best.......

Yea I found some steel brushes for like 2.49 plus shipping but that was for one then there were brass ones they where more.

The brass is for softer materials that the more rigid steel wires would eat up /mar ....... The brass flexes/bends/contours easier to follow the shape of what you're working on...

You can buy em cheap at hf, but look on ebay too cause last year my shop bought a huge lot (like 100's ) of dremel accessories including brushes. They paid like les than $80 for at least $250 worth of gear.... And a dremel bag to boot!

Well....to be honest. ...it doesn't really matter what you pay for them or where you get them....Dremel brushes have a very short lifespan. ....and OH......the difference between steel and brass is that steel can be too agressive for some metals...... (like aluminium) while brass pretty much won't damage aluminum. ..Given any common sense is also applied. ..

Anyway. ..the secret is to use mandrel mounted wire brushes on a drill whenever possible and save that Dremel work for the spots that really need ìt.....
