I have a go kart with a throttle rod that connects to the frame and a spring and stops there. What do I need to finish the connection to the Tecumseh motor. I bought the kart like this....

Hard to see from those pics, but I would ditch that whole setup and get an actual throttle cable. On pic #2 it shows that there is a spot for a return spring -on the far top right of the pic there is a piece that is sticking out (like an arm) with a hole in it that moves up and down when the throttle is engaged. Get a spring and a flexible throttle cable, and you're ready to go. If you don't have a spring there, when you apply pressure to the accelerator pedal, it will not return to idle position and you will be stuck at full throttle. Cannot see your pedal, but you will need a spring on that, too.
