Right now I have this double sided taped down. The black hose is not mounted to anything. Should I use something to keep it in place? On the next blue tube I thought a simple band clamp or zip tie just to hold it.

Originally the area that has gray paint had a tab for the cable. That ran to a gas motor.

Interesting throttle reel, why are you using it in lieu of a straight cable to the rear/to the engine? What is powering the kart right now?

To answer your question, I would have it bolted down or screwed to the floorpan just on principle. Double sided tape doesn't belong on a kart unless it is used for something inconsequential like holding down a mini tachometer or some such.

More photos please, of the whole cable layout.

@Hellion its a egokart build.

Here's a few more photos for you.

Looking at it, I should have routed the cable under the 2nd tube.

It's only a temp solution to hold the throttle down. 😀

So it is like a cable-operated electronic speed control (ESC)? Neat. The cable aft of the pulley is just electronic wiring then, that explains why it is wavy and loose(?).

Technically speaking, the cable conduit at the portion in front of the pulley thing needs to be anchored down so that the cable slides inside it. Try to eliminate the excess slack in the cable too. Hopefully there is enough range of motion in the whole throttle assembly so that when you put your foot down to floor it (give it all the "gas"), the pulley thing isn't ripped off the floor.

I haven't buttoned anything up right now, fitting it. Yeah I have the pedal stop at full throttle. I can adjust the controller to the max voltage so it'll know WOT.

Cool. I'll make sure the tube is solid so I doesn't move around. Cheers.

Thanks for sharing the issue. We have electric kart folks on the forum but they are probably absent because of the holiday festivities. Anyway, it helped me to understand this new-to-me electrical/mechanical throttle.
