throttle cable

while rebuilding the carb on my 5hp briggs I discovered the previous owner had zip tied the tip of the throttle cable to the idle screw spring, then attached a spring to the throttle lever to pull it back closed when you let off the throttle. any kind of way to securely attach this better? ill get a photo if needed

Yah may need a photo, most engines do in fact have a way of linking a throttle cable though.

As a last resort do something similar with wire instead of zip ties. but first pictures.

To restore it to factory, you'll need to replace that spring with a rubber band.....or.....
