Hi. Im almost done with my build. Murray explorer with predator 212. I don't know anything about throttle cables. I know how to hook up to the engine but how do I figure the length? The tec cable was to short. What do you use at the pedal lever to hold it tight? There's just a hole? Tried to post pics sorry!

If you PM me your email, I can send you the owners manual for the Explorer. You should have a throttle rod hooked up to your pedal that goes under the seat where it is hooked up to the throttle cable. If you don't have a rod you can use a cable from the engine to the pedal. in this case, I use a 1/4" bolt with a hole drilled through it for the cable. Put the bolt through the hole in the pedal, then a nut on both sides of the cable to secure it. You will also have to secure the end of the cable sheath in front of the pedal. It's actually easier than it sounds. I may be able to find some examples if needed. I do have some Explorer pictures showing the throttle rod.

That's awesome! Love your build! I understand the pedal stop method now . Thanks! Any idea how to secure the cable at the end of the pedal rod? Length of cable and best way to run it? I see a couple of ways side or rear. I saw the vid on the front hook up just looks to close to the return spring. Wish I could post a pic kart looks mean rhino lined! Lol

Well have everything together and have ran in to a problem. Starts great with choke on but when I slowly turn the choke off it dies. I have tried the idle screw didn't work? It will not run without the choke on 1/4 way? Its a brand new predator 212. Any suggestions?

Assuming you tried letting it warm up for a couple minutes, and then shutting off the choke (and it dies), that usually indicates a fuel delivery problem. What all have you done to this engine? Any mods at all?

If it's brand new, you should return it- for if you have done no mods, then I would consider that a defect.
