When you get your drivers license in ohio, you can buy a sticker for quads, dirtbikes, golf carts, ect, so you can drive them on the road (Of course not on state routes, major roads, freeways, ect. ) I NEED TO MAKE IT! Its a year and a 1/4 till I get my temps. 120MPG!!!!! I can get the motor for $20 on craigslist easy. 25mph is perfect. What ya think?

PS It will not be the exact same the plans, but you get the idea.

Well I re-read the rules and they no longer do it. Dang. Ill haft to register it as a motor- scooter. But then it will need headlight, turn signals, and a safety check.

stupid rules. This thing would never pass a safety check.

I think they mean 5 to 8 hp, not .625, five divide by eight, or 5/8 hp (whichever way you wish to say it).

I know the "tomb thumb mini bike" was 1/2hp and IIRC got up to 15MPH or so.

Eh, the police chief needs to send a letter and then inspect it to some standards... might be difficult to get that to happen.

Then you need to insure it. Have fun with that one.

I would say look for loopholes rather than going the legitimate methods, since there's a 99% chance that they've been abused so much they provide more of a hassle than convenience (mopeds, for example. As I understand hand signals with no lights used to be more than adequate)

For example, here in DE:

-Motor vehicle is self-propelled
-Definition of moped can have pedals, but same definition also includes that it must have 55cc or less, 2.7hp or less.

Therefore my 80cc motorized bicycle (with pedals) is not self-propelled, so not a motor vehicle, and it's over 55cc so it's not a moped.

It goes a good bit deeper than that, but this just gives you the general idea.
