The weld on that bracket looks a bit flimsy... I would go over that again and try to stay in the crack. Sloppy welds are absolutely fine as long as they hold.

It was flimsy. It broke when I drilled the holes to mount it. The weld on the bearing hanger was much better (you could see that the two pieces actually melted together. The "L" bracket was just a cold weld). They were my first and second welds, respectively, so I'm improving
