Today I'm embarking on a 1600 mile round trip to Colorado.
I'll be taking the boulevard.
Ii was going to take Abby, but thought better of traveling through Denver with a dog on my tank.
She's gonna be PO'd.
I'm planning on a slow trip up, and camping along the way.
I bought a new tent, in case I need it.
I'll be traveling mountains most of the way.
As the map shows, I'll be heading into the mountains starting in Flagstaff. Then up to Durango, then Montrose, then Monarch, and finally ending in Aurora.
Other than the route, which could change at any time, nothing is planned except visiting my daughter, and meeting my (arggh) grand daughter who is nine, for the first time.
My daughter is preparing to move from a real craphole apt in Denver, so I won't even be going there, I hope.
Searching the internet for a few days, I couldn't find a decent motel with proper amenities, and good bike in front of the door parking.
Everything I came across that was somewhat doable had reviews that were amazingly horrible.
Then an idea struck me. Something I've never done before.
AirBNB.
After about two hours of searching, I found a great little place I'll be staying at while in Denver.
They seem like a nice couple, and people just love them and their place. The best part, is it'll be about three times less than a motel.
I plan to update frequently, and hope to make this thread rather picture heavy.
Stay tuned.
If ya want to.
