My mom called and said that they convicted the guy who raped and killed the girl who's wallet I found while tube fishing in Lake Worth in November 1987.

I managed to Google up the Star Telegram article from last Thursday, which had all the details of the case. 61year old Ricky Lee Adkins pleaded no contest and was sentenced to 35 years for the rape and murder of 19 year-old Wendy Robinson in July of 1987.

I won't go into all the gory details but all I know I pretty much learned from the article anyone can Google up. Mr. Adkins claims 2 accomplices, one of which he says administered the fatal blow with a rock to the head.

I'm happy the family is finally getting some closure in the matter. It bothers me that there may be 2 others running loose.

I've been curious about this for 30 years myself.

35 years for rape and murder isn't justice. Not sure how it works in Texas, but hopefully 35 years is true 35 years and he dies in prison. I'm sure murder isn't 50/50 but I'd hate to see that guy ever get released.

Also had an Aggravated sexual assault in 1995.
Eligible for parole in 2025. 7 years. What a joke!
I thought murder during aggravated sexual assault is a capital crime in Texas?
I hope the other inmates serve the justice that the state of Texas is failing to do.

Yep Bob, I didn't say a word about JUSTICE, just closure. That part of it makes me sick. At least he's not free to harm society ATM.

Here in Texas, these things have a way of working themselves out at times. He may become very accident prone in the near future .

Unbelievable. Hope he gets a cell with a bodyguard size guy who can give him a taste of his own medicine.

Fortunately he's the type that most prisoners hate. He may not last his parole hearing in 7 years.
