I know Whitetrashrocker, BBQ Joe, and myself all enjoy full sized motorcycles and I was curious who else did so I thought I'd post a thread where we can show one another our bikes and discuss bikes and bike related stuff.

Sticker says 923 of 1000. I've researched but never found any info on exactly what that means. But I was at the 100 anniversary in Milwaukee and had many people drooling.

Also have an old and odd dirt bike. Whose heard of Carabela? Here's an MX125. Picked it up in a group buy. It was a basket case.

I hadn't noticed the front drum brakes before. You're a bold individual if you use those. A buddy had one lock up on him, it wiped him out pretty hard, luckily he was only going about 30.

I built a 72 shovel that I shaved the jugs down on my lathe, now THAT will put the woopow in one.

Never had an issue with the brakes other than being drums. Get them wet and might as well not have any brakes. And I set the front to almost lock at full pull, then back off just a smidge. Don't want to slide in a panic brake situation.

Im sure you've heard of a "shovester". Shovel top end, sporty bottom.

Yes, I'm familiar with the panster also, although they never really took off. My buddies bike was a 1943 flathead 45, something turned loose in the front brakes, and when he touched them they just locked and stayed that way. It was enough to bend the DNA springer he had on it. He was lucky he was wearing a helmet.

Not to split hairs, but this is actually a chopper in the purest sense of the word as the frame has been modified, a bobber is what was once referred to as a "cut down". A bobber has parts stripped and usually a short rear fender with stock frame geometry, a chopper has had major frame modifications.
As far as riding it, I've seen most of this great nation from the seat of that bike. It's been featured in two magazines, and on several websites. It's on it's 4th engine since I've owned it. When I'm at gas stations 1k + miles from home people can't believe that I actually ride it there. My personal best is 874 miles on it in one day. I was shooting for 1k, but it was raining and I got too cold to go on. It's been a heck of a little bike.

I always took bobbers as stripped down of all unnecessarys and a cut fender. Bobtailed.

Choppers were chopped up pieces of what ever was laying around.

And they also have a name for people like you Nate, IronA~~.
My dad has a friend like that. He will do like Forrest Gump, wake up one morning and want to go for a ride, then somehow he's a few States away.
Amazing how lifes problems disappear when you have the breeze in your knees.

Yes, 81 KZ750 four. I know what you mean, I tell people that I get on my bike and ride until the wind blows all the schit out of my head. It seems like I do my best thinking on a bike. IMO it's because I can't hear my phone, I can't look at my phone, I can't talk to anyone, the only real way for someone to screw with me is to hit me with their car, and I'm usually the fastest moving thing on the road so that's pretty tough. Just living in the moment. I know I've been for a good ride when I quit thinking and just ride. No conscious thoughts, no planning, no trying to work out problems, just sitting on my bike and being really and truly alive right then and there and not doing anything that isn't simply instinct. That's really why I cover so many miles. I'm not trying to prove anything or show off, it's just that once I finally get in that moment I don't want it to end because everything about the world is pure and right and I want it to stay that way.

1st ones a '81 GS850/ Picked this up for $500 off the side of the road. Mikuni 42MM carbs, K&N filters, de-baffled pipes & a .040 shaved head. Bought it with 22k on it in 2014 and already has 46k. The very 1st bike I've ever owned.

Next one is a '86 Calvacade 1400. Bone stock w/ only 13k. Delivered 80mi and it only cost me $1200. Got a set of brand new Avon Cobra AV71s thrown in. All it does is just sit in my livingroom and collect dust.

The next is my daily favorite. 1994 Goldwing GL1500 SE Touring. The miles climb every day. Bought this for a mere $2800 w/ only 69k on it. The engine just had it's 75k overhaul, it came with 3 Arai full face helmets, a new Kicker upgrade stereo kit, AND a new set of Elite IIIs. I slapped some AV72s on it and like them better. Only complaint I have about it is I can't tell if it's running or not.

Last but not least is the ever trusty '79 GS850. Found it on it's side on the side of the road and since no one reported it missing I adopted it into the collection. The Vetter setup came from the loft, made up a bracket and I kept it until I bought the Blue '81. Other than a severe engine cleaning and trans-rebuilding I got my money's worth out of it.

I have 22 motorcycles, these are just the ones that stick out for me. All of these have the Back-off tail light module, Pulsing headlight modules, LED bulbs in all sockets, and have many stories behind them.

I ride with them but not in one. The only group I'm -in- is Patriot Riders of America. Other than a couple smaller local MCs they're the ones I'm with. I do have a Angel's clubhouse literally 1/8th of a mile down the road from me though. Makes things interesting.

I knew a few members and was a "hang a round".
I was asked to prospect but declined. There were parts I just couldn't hold up to.

I just got back from my first bike trip in about 30 years.
I went to San Juan Capistrano for a few days.
Nice ride, nice riding bike, family? Not so nice.

I had a 1980 Yamaha XT250 for a short while. Rode it nearly daily from April 2016 till the end of August when I got smoked by a car. Put nearly 4k on that little 250 lol.

Made a custom rack for it out of solid 1/2" cold roll. Then made custom panniers out of 81mm mortar cans, which weighed a literal ton so I redid the boxes using 50cal extended cans which had foam padding in them. Finished them 10 days before my accident.

Poor thing is probably on a scrap barge in China by now.
