The Honda postie bikes have there own legend about how indestructible they are

I think they are Honda CT 125

Just remember a second hand brand name Honda, Yamaha ect will usually be better than a Chinese new one

dont forget about parts you might need, it is best to look for a engine that has cheap parts and lots of parts rather than expensive parts which are few and far between, obviously, but its still something to keep in mind.

Cheap parts and easy to find are two very differant things

The Chinese engines are dirt cheap
But u can never find parts and they stop making parts once they release a newer engine

Everyone has a Honda shop near by and although parts are more expensive they come with a warranty and quality
Also they keep making parts for engines dateing back 20yrs (officially)
But u can still get parts for engines older than that

I think It really depends on what type of kart your building, and your budget:

If you can afford it, and you'll be installing the engine on a racekart, I'd definetly use a Honda CR125.

But If its a budget-build on a homemade (or a funkart) frame. I'd go with whatever engine you can find a good deal on
