This is the evolution of my motorized bicycle project. Somehow, it morphed into this massive rat moped which I made from scratch. it has an 87cc Jonsered chainsaw engine in it. This engine, through friction drive, is good propulsion on pavement {not too fast though} Off-road is doesn't do too good because of the tires. It is unbelievably comfortable to ride, even though the steering doesn't move. I just pop a wheelie and do a 360 degree turn.. It was a lot of fun to make, keep in mind no welding here, just good old nuts and bolts and a LOT of scrap stuff lying around. My favorite part of it is the chicken wire "fairing". Enjoy the pictures!

I dare you to put a headlight and brakelight on that thing and register it as a 50cc moped. Most ghetto thing I have ever seen, more ghetto than my sandbox boat or duct tapeing and spray painting holes on cars.

The darn thing's too nasty to be street legal {imagine the looks on people's faces if I drove by:roflol: }, but I'm still going to road test it a little bit. Lights would be cool, but they'd have to be the battery powered ones. To road test it I am going to look for a long but not too steep downhill stretch to see how fast she'll go. No good on hills without momentum. I bet at least 20 to 25 mph, which is plenty fast for something this ratty.

Nope; deckscrews. The axles were wooden dowels too, talk about excitement when you hit a bump. The front end ended up as filler in a dirt quarterpipe at my jumps that just got plowed.

These contraptions are awesome.

I think you've just started a fad.
