Bootleg Arduinos are pretty cheap, especially the smaller ones. They're about $3.25 apiece shipped in quantities of five including a USB-to-TTL adapter for programming. I have a bunch of that stuff somewhere.

The Uno is good for learning and development while the Minis and Micros are smaller and easier to integrate into a finished project as the "brain."

Sorry about your dog. I buried my Texas Lacy 8 days ago, and it's still tearing me up. Glad you got some work done. And glad to see a dead snake. My poor girl got bit on the neck, and we took to the vet, got the antivenom, the whole 9, but "she gone". Had her for 10 years since she was 7 weeks old. Sucks. Sorry again, it hurts.

I need to figure out how to put a couple to a few gates in the feed panels, maybe I'll just get some framed chainlink gates, set some T posts as the frame and wire them together, I want to be able to lock the gates, so hinging a feed panel section to swing open isn't going to work

did some work on a super custom winch order today, spent many hours in the garage, noticed a dumb @ss lookyloo staring in to my garage as he crept by so an idea immediately hit me, we have an unused outdoor sun shade from the old house 10' long, I put it over the garage, allows air flow, views out, but blocks views in, I has privacy in garage when working now

boy did I have a busy and productive weekend, aside from making some replica parts for my neighbor's Winchester 45-60 I made an house address number plate with the plasma cutter, hung an additional shade for complete garage privacy, planted one of my cottonwoods (and good luck tree, it's right over a bed of caliche), changed brake pads on the Dyna and there's more I wont bore you with

Finally getting around to working on the gates. Each one will be heavier than I can lift. They will roll across the ground. Any suggestions for wheel/tire combos? I’d like pneumatic since it’s rough and uneven ground but I don’t want to deal with flats.

I can't find them at the moment but there are places to get foam inserts that take place of an inner tube.

I went ahead and ordered these, I think the gates will be finished within their return period so that'll do if they dont work like I'd like them to. Most wheels like this have a 5/8" hub so my axle mounts should work either way, well unless I go with a larger diameter wheel

Close but not quite. These tires are solid and un-painted. While HF wheels are much cheaper, have tube type tires, and are painted white. I have four (working on converting them to go kart rims) that I got used for free.

I am seriously exhausted but my fence project is coming to a close. We spent all day digging through that d@&$ caliche and I know now the following: only dig caliche with a 75lb demo hammer, or a digging bar if you're a barbarian.

I'm pretty content with these solid rubber tires but time will tell if they hold up.

I rate my fabrication skills as acceptable on this 43' gate project. In truth the gate is a total 48' in length but I wanted some extension for the someday automatic openers.

Now just to tie in the $h!tty cattle panels and the dogs can run the whole lot
