I'm going to guess you actually honed the cylinder. Maybe used a glaze braker or ridge reamer. Standard drill presses are not accurate enough for cylinder boring.

45-60 is a pretty broad sweep. My kart topped out at 45, and I had some pretty good hardware happening.

Anyways, maybe there was a communications failure (most likely) or your uncle misinformed you (possible) or has absolutely no idea what he's talking about (gonna hope for not likely, but basically your information is weak at best.

You see, when someone shows up outta nowhere making hp/torque/speed claims and has nothing to back it, it's a bad start. Especially when the person proves to be, ahh, misinformed. I've seen it go worse than this.

Truth is, if you were to say, "I did some tweaking on it and it feels faster", or, "the GPS says I picked up 5MPH" then that's at least honest an makes no refutable claims. Further to that, if you were to say, "I really have no idea what I'm doing here and need all the help I can get.", then I personally guarantee you'll get all sorts of help here!

Anyways, that said- Tell us about your kart! (What you do know, like make, model, engine size, features, etc)

Oh- regarding the clutch thing- If you find you need to mount it too far outboard for the engine's shaft, your better option may be to move your axle sprocket over a little. There really is not practical way to extend the PTO shaft.

Have your uncle make you a motor mount that will adjust side to side as well as forward and back. or move the sprocket in closer to the engine, with some longer bolts. and nuts as spacers.

What do you mean by 'so my clutch will fit better'?

Will your clutch not fit on the shaft? Will the clutch's sprocket not line up with your axle sprocket? Or is there just not enough of the crankshaft to come all the way through the clutch?

i need to extend my shaft so my clutch will fit better any suggestions

There's no easy way to extend your engines output shaft, but you might be able to shim your clutch out a 1/2" or so further by simply using flat washers as shims like I had to do with 1 of my kart engines:

I first removed my clutch and key,
then I slid a few flat-washers onto the engines output shaft,
I then re-installed the key and clutch,
Then I used a longer clutch retaining-bolt with an equal-stack/thickness of (small OD.) flat washers to shim the very end of the output shaft and perfectly compensate for the shim-washers I'd installed behind the clutch.
I then also re-used the same flat and lock washers to actually hold the clutch on as i had been using before shimming my clutch.

This has worked out fine with my engine and the clutch model I had, although I cant say for sure if this method would work with yours. You'd just have to give it a try, or better yet post very detailed pics/measurements of your components so we could tell for sure.

Or, if your clutch model just uses set screws to retain it, you might be able to simply slide the clutch out further on the engines shaft and tighten it down there.
(again, we'd need to see detailed pics/measurements to tell if this would work correctly and still be giving your clutch the internal support it might need from riding on the full length of your engines output shaft)
