The details are bogging me down

Started this build a few weeks ago, getting through it a bit better now starting to get closer to first start. Dimensions are 64”x 38”. Will more than likely be ready for paint by next weekend. Haven’t started the motor quite yet and still needing to weld the roll bar and side bars. Overall feeling okay about it. Suggestions that don’t involve redoing anything haha are appreciated.

Welcome to the forum! It is looking good so far. What is your tyre height and drivetrain going to be? Centrifugal clutch? Torque converter? You dont want to have a high gear ratio, as the kart will then just not move.

I think there is a little bit of the entire store built into this.

It’s a great idea to start the engine first, before making any alterations to it. You never know, the engine may never start out of the box (could be faulty/defective). Seen a few where a pushrod fell off the valve rocker during shipment.

I break it in in stock form too. Use it and see how slow and stodgy it is in factory condition. Helpful to have a baseline to start from.

This thread needs a better title. What’s the name of your kart?

Ja. Photo number 4. But you wouldn’t otherwise notice it because everything else seems to be in mock-up form. I think it’s better to have wheels and tires decided on and purchased a lot sooner. Maybe he has them.

Hello all, 224cc stage 1, 30 series TC, 44T / 40 @ 1”, 44” live axle @ 1” OD, pneumatic braking, materials are stainless 1” ID tube for structure. Various other steel for misc. Found some stainless hoops for the roll and side protection. Tires are 18x9.5-8 @ rear and 14x6-6 on the front. Went with marine fabric in snakeskin but it didn’t wrap exactly how I wanted but not that concerned.

Ideally that’s what I wanted to do but scatter brain once items start arriving in the mail. The plan is to get it running this weekend. Surely it won’t start haha but hopefully! Will post some updates as I progress
