So the build begins. Not a lot to show yet but we have started welding up the base frame and I think I'm pretty satisfied with the progress so far. If someone has any helpful hints or input let me know. I will try to post some pictures of the progress ( hopefully they load right) and will post updates as we move along! :auto:

I also picked up this kart the other day so that I can join in on the fun with them when we start riding. I don't know much about the chassis but it's got a freakin butler race car seat on it and I think it's staying haha. When we went to pick it up my kids saw the embroidered seat and say hey momma its a butler go kart. Anyways I picked it up for 150$ and I think that's fair. Again sorry for the multiple posts.

haha yeah I know the pit crew is what its all about! but as far as the frame the only thing that worries me is the rear part of the cart. where the motor and axles will be I only worry that this will have too much stress on it and will snap/bend where it meets the rear seating area. I have thought of two brace bars from the top of the seat frame to the rear like a triangle and im wondering if this will achieve the support needed.

Thinking like a builder already...... :lolgoku: The seat brace does both.......
EDIT
Live axle, right? Cut a piece of tube and add a 45* brace from big part of frame to the little part. It won't be in the way of the axle. And I mean at the outside joints. The inside can get 45* braces as well, but there is nothing to be in the way there..... That would make those connection points stronger, in both planes.....

for the rear dead axles I need to know what the width of a 4.10/3.50x6 assembly setup with the 60 tooth sprocket hub and band brake together. I need to know so that I will know where to put the dead axles on the rear and to match the overall width of the cart from front to rear. in short I need to know how long to make the axles. I do know the nominal hight of the combo is roughly 12.5, but width of the assy.? And just thinking the width of the passenger side rear will be less than the left side or am I mistaken. I just don't want to have 4 axles the same length and three different offset wheels haha that would be fugly.
