I'm still with the HF6.5 because of the Bang-for-the-Buck ratio, although after seeing what Russ has been accomplishing, it'd been fair to toss in the 2-stroke as an option, too.
As an aside, but somehow relevant; One thing I've noticed about any DIY hobby, be it karts, model airplanes, advanced basket weaving, whatever... someone always goes over the top at great expense and turns a fun, HA-HA hobby into "Serious Business". The "Calvin & Hobbs" cartoons poked fun at the trend with the fictional "Chewing Magazine ...for those who take their gum-chewing seriously." Some of us can throw enough $$$ at these things to make theirs "The Ultimate Kart" (Along with the All-Important Bragging Rights).... I say, "Good for you." In the meantime, it's all about fun, isn't it? If someone comes up with a way to power these things from any cheap method of turning a motor shaft, I'm for it. This forum has offered some really cool ideas and methods that keep the meaning and the spirit of DIY.
LONG LIVE CHEAP AND FUN!
Ooops. Time to get off of soapbox.
