Hello everyone thank you for letting me join your group. I have a Simplex go kart with a Westbend 580 motor. It is all original and barely was ever used, it’s in excellent condition except for a light coat of rust on the frame and paint peeling on the motor. Has all original decals on it and the seat is like brand new.I am going to leave it unrestored like it is, I just cleaned it up some with WD-40 on the frame to protect it from rust. I believe it’s 100 percent original except for the tires.

If you have been here a week or two, you would recognize that we are NOT fans of any WD products. Wd 40 is a (WD) water dispersant
....that is all.....It is not a lubricant, and it will in fact corrode metal, it is acidic in nature, and about 92% paint thinner. Great marketing,
lousy product !

Use Gibbs if you want to protect the metals. Sounds like a great kart. It would be even better with some pictures!
