Tecumseh OHV 6hp Breather Tube

Hi,
Had a 90 deg fitting coming out of my valve cover, to a vacuum hose that leads to the carb, key word HAD.
I let the kids keep riding, seemed okay.
Is that just re-burning fuel ( ie emissions), i saw vapor coming out of the valve cover... and i can plug both up or is there more to it ?

Don't plug it, get a breather filter for the valve cover. It attaches to the hose.
