Tecumseh OHH55 Carburetor Difficulties

I have a small go-cart with a Tecumseh OHH55 engine on it. I have a very strange problem in that the engine completely loses power when going over bumps or turns, only for the power to return after a few seconds. I have tried many things: removing the low oil sensor, doing a carb clean, carb adjustments, etc. I have heard in other places that the correct next step is to move to a diaphragm carburetor. I took some dimensions, expecting to simply search for and find a carburetor, and buy it. However, nowhere can I find any references to the correct carb to use, or even dimensions for any carburetor out there! The only dimensions I have found for any carburetor are bore diameter. I believe mine is 18-19 mm. Any help would be appreciated.

Didn't know an OHH55 had a low oil sensor? My OHH50 doesn't. Removing the low oil sensor is more of a clone/Honda thing.

There is a sender in the bottom of the casing, with wires running up the back of the engine. Somebody said that oils sloshing around could trigger the sender and stop the engine, so as a precaution I simply cut the wire.

I'd bet a dollar you are putting the carb bowl on wrong. That will cause this exact problem. Make sure the shallow part is toward the hinge of the float so the bowl can drop down into the deep part.

Verify that the float is set correctly, while you're in there.

The bowl is on correctly, and the float is adjusted correctly. With the help of landuse's post, I managed to find a diaphragm carb that will be a perfect drop-in replacement. Will be purchasing and replacing soon. I'll post updates when I get the chance.
