I have a Tecumseh Power Sport OHH60 that I recently got out of the trash with a American Flyer chassis. The problem is the motor starts off strong in when you first start it up and idles strong for, about 30 seconds, then it gets to the point of ALMOST stalling, but comes back to a strong idle. After this goes on for about 5 minutes it finally levels itself out. But when you give it gas( press the gas pedal) it just stalls itself. I have replaced the fuel bowl and all its respective gaskets and still did not fix the problem ( that is why it was profusely leaking gas EVERYWHERE, but I got a new bowl and gasket and it fixed all of those problems). I am at a loss of what to do/ why the motor is doing what it is doing. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

You could try taking the main jet out only and poking it with guitar string. Then put it back in and see if it runs.

If your good at carbs then clean that sucker good by boiling in lemon juice for 20 minutes. Not sure what your skills are so starting with a jet poke may be better.

I use the same motor and it had the same problem after it sat for a couple years. Picked up a can of carb cleaner sprayed it all on the inside, gave it a pull and it started right up. Put some throttle into it and it went. Problem solved for me.

and if you dont play a guitar or piano and not have a guitar string... you can use a bread tie.. just remove the paper and use the wire... pokie pokie all the little holes and squirt some WD40 through them and you should be good to go.

Thanks gnetlemen for all you help. Today I got the carb from my neighbor who essentially rebuilt it and cleaned it. I installed it today and low and behold it refuses to even start now. I get one or two "puts" out of it and then it just kills itself. Any help are and will always be greatly appreciated!
