Tecumseh carb arghhh

i just pulled apart a friends tecumseh 35 vertical shaft mower engine to see whats was wrong and the bigend bearing cap had fallen off and the cam was brokn in half. LOL.

Not sure what went first but i think it will run again/i'll buy him a briggs

here's the deal- just got her to fire up! she only wants to run at high rpms, is this some problem with the idle needle? well either way I turned up the idle screw really high and left it in one position but the rpms kept fluctuating, does anyone know why it would behave like that?

I believe this is why...., I'm off to grab some axle grease now...

Could be that. Did you replace the intake gaskets? bad gaskets would cause the same symptoms.

I did not replace those gaskets, in fact only one was on there on the air/fuel mixture side, I tried grease on that felt washer but no luck then just had yet another run in with Phx PD, some neighbor seems to have beef with our little fun
