Tecumseh 8hp engine - okay for racing kart?

Fellow wants $50 for a used 8hp tecumseh from an old snowblower he's parting out. If it runs, would it be worth it? More important, would it okay for mounting up to an old racing kart (will never see the track again).

If it runs that seems like a steal you may be able to talk him down ten or fifteen bucks. I dont see why you cant machiine a mount for a race kart, dosent seem like a problem.

it will have the same bolt pattern as any clone or 5 horse briggs

tecumsehs keep the small mounting pattern up to 10hp but briggs 8hp have a larger base
