We've been given an off-road go kart with a Tecumseh 6.5 hp motor. It's got a torque converter on it. I ran a new fuel line to it the other day. Because the old line had cracks and was leaking everywhere. Now the go kart won't stay running longer than 5 seconds. The fuel line seems to be supplying plenty of fuel. I found a video that mentions cleaning the little screw that holds the carb bowl in place. But the funny thing is, I did all that BEFORE the problems started. Any ideas on what I should check/clean/replace... would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Clean the carb again. You probably broke some crap loose when you changed the fuel line and now it is plugging up the carb.
Also you will want to install a fuel filter.

If there’s junk in the gas tank, that will gunk up your clean carb. My tec is a 5.5 but has a plastic tank which is ideal for not rusting like my predator metal tank. My tec is a 2008 and it stalls regularly and I eventually replaced it with the pred because it completely lacked the power to be fun. I don’t know if there’s an oil sensor but taking wide turns or going down a steep hill could cause it to die also.

Take the carb off and clean it again. Blow out the passages with compressed air if you have it.

If there is any appreciable amount of corrosion in the carb, just replace it. Tecumseh carbs work well when they work, but can be a PITA when they don't. A Chinese stock replacement can be had for $10-13 to your door.

I'm going to recommend against the PZ22 because that will disable the governor and IMO, Tecumsehs have some pretty fragile connecting rods. It would be a shame to put a hole in the side of an otherwise good Power Sport 6.5.
