tecumseh 49cc engine running problem

Hi there all, i have a 49cc 2 stroke tecumseh engine in a carter kart ,new carb & plug,the problem is that i get it started but have to keep pressing the petrol primer bulb to keep it running ,anyone know what this might be ?

start at the fuel filter and work your way to the engine block looking for fuel blockages or airleaks(check the fuel lines and carb/manifold gaskets). If its a diaphragm carb then verify that its assembled correctly and that diaphragms are good and that the fuel lines are on the right way around

yes but this guy has a brand new carb so i would look at other things before i pulled it apart

i would mainly look at the gasket behind the carb. Did you replace it? and make sure the fuel lines were put on the right way. How did it run before you changed to the new carb?

i think it may be the fuel primer the bulb fell out while i was pushing it.
