I have a old sears go kart with a 3.5 tecumseh with governor setup. My throttle cable is not returning, and sticks. Does anyone have a good photo or might know what spring I might be missing.
Thanks...

Is it a H35? I have one on my mini-bike that is governed and I could take a few pictures of the throttle hookup if you want me to.

I had the same problem, added a spring from a bolt behind the clutch to the long lever that pulls on the throttle... I'll try and get a pic of mine tonight.

Is the governor external on yours?

Here are some photos of my throttle hookup. Not sure how much they'll help. sorry for the low quality, they were taken from my phone.

1)That's the throttle and arm hookup.
2)If the throttle is not returning, then that spring may be the culprit.
3)This is a pic of where the cable is connected.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the pictures, Mine sticks wide open some times when your full throttle. I'm going to upgrade the return spring.

Jcotz: I am definitely missing the return spring. It looks like the end of my throttle cable attaches differently. I have only one hole in the little arm where my cable goes through. Yours looks like it has a part that holds the end of the cable and the spring. Could I be missing another part on the bracket? Thanks for the pics.

What's the model number on yours? Their is a chance that they have different designs.

So I have similar linkage on mine, however it wasn't getting the job done, so I rigged it with a long spring and attached it to a bolt behind the clutch...

It pulls it back much better now than before... Course I still can't get it to hold full throttle consistently but that's another issue.
