TC is slipping?

I have a torque converter on my cart, and over the past couple weeks, I can feel it popping like it is gripping and letting go repeatedly, and it gets even worse under acceleration, I don't know if it's the little teeth on the driven or the driver is what's doing it but it seems to have gotten worse since I've upgraded my motor but I think that it might just be that the added power is just making it more pronounced. It also seems like when I accelerate really gently and step the throttle up slowly it doesn't do it. what do I do about this?

It's not a new motor, I just put a bigger air cleaner on the one that was there, the engine was 10HP stock.

EDIT: I"ve done some digging to inspect the TC, which I believe to be a comet 40 due to it being symmetric. Pic below

However seeing this and seeing the belt looking pristine I did a bit more looking and noticed that the teeth on the driven are a tad worn, not too bad though.pic below

Then following the driveline farther I noticed a large amount of slack in the chain (shown in pic below) which I believe might be causing this.

After seeing this I remembered that I sometimes hear the popping while pulling the kart in reverse, so, seeing what might be the issue I tested it and found this: (vid below)
The chain is slipping and this almost confirmed it for me, my chain is slipping, which leads me to believe that the next course of action would be to take a link or two out of the chain?

So then what do I do? just pop out a link? if so, then how?

Yup, all you have to do is take a link or two out (probably just one). If you look at the pic, I have circled your master link. You can see the clip that goes on over the link. All you do is pop that off, slide the master link out, and the chain will fall open. What I normally do if I want to take a link out, is I grind the head of the pin off at that link (look at the pic again for link pin which I have marked) and break the chain open there. You can then put the whole thing back together again with the master link and clip.

Just make sure that the closed end of the clip is facing the direction of chain travel. You don't want the clip to get hooked on something as you are riding and it gets pushed off. Your chain will then fly off the kart.

OK now I'm really confused, I took a link out and now It is way too short, I can't even get it to connect, what gives?

Well they seem simple enough, though I mostly see them for bikes, However I assume they make them in sizes suitable for karting. Will installing one of these half links comprimize the strength of my chain?

EDIT: how does one identify chain Number?

Can you slide the motor a little? BTW-looks like you're gonna need a new jackshaft gear. You stripped the teeth off of it. Happened to my Dingo when I ran the chain loose a while. Those things are like $30!! Try to find one on an old kart.

What's the difference between 40 and 41? I'm assuming Its just a small amount of length?

A 40 is slightly wider than a 41. A 40 chain will fit on a 41 sprocket, but not the other way round

Have a look at THIS thread where Fabroman and I explain it

You can get half links for any sort of chain, and like toystory says you will not comprimise strength. See if you can move the engine back a bit like Fast Eddie advised. That way you won't have to get a half link

Well I'd try it but when I removed the one link I pretty much destroyed it so...

The link, like the two thin metal strips that connect two links, I pretty much ruined the ones of those that go between the far two links. on another note, how does one differentiate between 40/41? is there a measurement for that too?

So I got the half link I needed, put 2 in (1 wasn't quite enough) and adjusted my jackshaft and motor placement to fine tune the tension, rode fine for a bit, then it started to slip a bit, then I slammed on the breaks to drift in a parking lot and my chain came off the sprockets and had way too much slack. What happened? Will these new chain links take some time to stretch and break in or did I not tighten my jackshaft down enough?

Sounds like u didn't tighten the bolts down enough

Or maybe
How long did u run with the chain slipping line that
U may have damaged the sprockets or chain

Also is the 2 sprockets perfectly aligned
