Looks like a 30 series Comet driver and a 20 series driven (which won't work together).

Need to see a side view of the driver assemblies.

the driver also has a slight cruve, most likely going to be buying a 40 and putting it on but wanted to know what brand and series it was

:iagree: with Tihm.. a series 30 driver and a series 20 driven..

that won't work.
pick either (I'd take the series 30 driver and buy a new driven personally...)

Yeah, lucky for you its possible to buy a series 30 driven for cheap. Thats a nice looking 1" bore driver though. Try not to put too much hp on that sucker even though it'll fit on a bigger engine those belts won't last long.

Depending the kart/weight/drag, but irregardless... I agreealso, go w/ the 30 series and buy/get the driven... along w/ a set of driver springs JIC. FYI, the China knock offs work in conjunction w/ the original Comet units... of the same series. Ive never seen a 20 series in working function... not saying anything bad bout em... just never seen one. The 30 on the other hand... Ive seen more so than not. Bout 70% of karts Ive seen w/ a TC, have a 30 series on em (usually a TAV2)... which is what I run.

Just going with kart correct 8hp briggs or if I feel like it I might put a stock gx390 on it. Just did a fresh rebuild on it and didn't do any performance parts on it. I ended up getting a vc460 for that.

Hmmm... wasnt aware of that... then... FYI... the 30 series is rated 'to' 8hp... do you have plans on upgrading/modding the engine for more HP, ever? If so, may wanna think bout sinking $ into a 40 series, due to the size of the kart and the 'not on the borderline' of HP recommendation... if not you may eat belts...dependent on gearing... maybe,,, maybe not.

Well not quite...in fact it's rated way ABOVE 8hp (15hp to be precise)

Model 30 Series (Asymmetrical)
The model 30 uses a 3/4" top width belt. The belt mass in No. 30 is desirable in applications requiring extra rugged driving ability, such as dune buggies, go-karts, mini bikes, ATV's, grounds maintenance equipment, materials handling devices and industrial equipment. The Model 30 series is mounted with both stationary sheaves inboard. Mounting can be on a flat, fixed plane, requiring only minimum displacement.

HP: up to 15
.....

the 8HP limit is based on the TAV2 specs, which although it's a series 30 is limited to 8hp.. (most likely because of the backplate) ;)

So, no backplate, no problem :D

i was looking threw all the pictures online and didnt come across any 20 series drivens that looked like mine. All the ones i found use 6 buttons while mine uses 3. Also while looking the 20 series only have 3 rivets on back while the one i have has 6. Any chance it is something differnt than a 20 series

three?

I haven't noticed that in the pics..

Okay, measure it's diameter if it's 6" or 7" it's a series 20 or maybe a compatible maxtorque driven (same belt as a series 20...) which I'm afraid is unlikely on closer inspection...

if it's x.5" in diameter it's a series 40 driven! (which I think it'll be)
(and thus you'd need a different driver a series 40 or series 44 driver to match the driven)

7/8" is the width of a series 40 belt...

the driven is nominally a 7.5" for a series 40 and 8.5" for a series 44
outside edge to outside edge is 7-37/64" .. so yeah well... 7.35 that'd be ~7-45/128... odd!

maybe your measuring device or reading is just slightly off... anywhoo.. series 40 it is.

Mesured with a new tape messure. Looks like it mesured to 7 5/8 so I'll take it as a 40 Series. Now just got to order a driver.
