So I seen the driven in both orientations with the spring on the left or the right. With that said I seen conversion both side of the conversion
that there a wrong or right orientation.

Looking in the at the instructions http://www.bmikarts.com/pdf/comet_40series.pdf I have not necessary seen any verbage
on this.

Also Is there a guide on how tight/loose you need to put your
belt.

Thanks

The belt is determined by the center to centre distance between the driver and driven. There is no messing around with it. Have a look at the helpful links sticky in the FAQ section of the forum. It has some links to belts and distances

I in the spec on that belt number from center to center. But there a small range from belt
to the next belt.

Anyone have ideas on the the orientations of the spring away vs inside or toward the engine?

Do I need to install a yellow spring for reverse?
