Hi,
Was in the process of painting my sons go kart when I noticed the rear bearing on the driven side of the torque converter was completly torn apart.
I removed the jackshaft rod and the inner part of the bearing is basically stuck on the shaft. I could hammer it off but I probably will score the rod so I just bought new bearings, jackshaft rod and retaining clip.
Only have a couple of hours on the converter.
The motor is a 5hp briggs. 11 inch tires and 54 tooth sprocket.
It is a clone tav2 from GPS. Guy said I probably tightened the nut to tight. I think I just tightened till the threads were flush to the end of the nut. No threads were showing.
Has anyone seen this bearing fail so fast ?
How tight should that nut be?
Thanks!
