Yep im addicted.
I sold the blue carter this morning and while I was out I bought this one.
I am going to keep it and sell my personal kart. The orange and black one.I think the streaker is a better kart for me. It has an older briggs and comet converter and live axle and disc brake. Which is all the things I wanted to add to my kart anyways.
it says streaker on the steering wheel does anyone recognise this model.

Plans for this one is paint, remove rollbar, 6 inch slicks on the rear and a narrow threaded front tire. Planing on building a drift kart. If I can I would like to keep the brigs we will see.

Update on the TAOTAO

Update on the TAOTAO,

It took me awhile and several attempts to find the reason it would not shift gears, What I found was two small pins ( looks like roll pin ) missing from the transmission synchronizer, I found them in the bottom of the case, after reinstalling it and testing it now has all gears. Then the stator took a dump on me, I replaced all of the CDI electronics, and installed a new clutch and battery. she is running good and is currently on craigslist awaiting a new home. So since I had never worked on this type of engine or electronics, I would say it was a straight forward repair, I do have a lot of time in it but not a lot of money. It is a fun buggy to drive, having reverse is a blessing for young drivers, I would recommend the full auto in this brand as the semi-auto is a little hard for first timers.

Good for you sticking it out and also for posting it right away. The sooner it's out of your garage the better. I have two taotao four wheelers and the things that break never cease to amaze me. It is constant. They are so close to a cool cheap product, but in almost every way they are a miss. The one guarentee with them is something is either breaking that you don't know about, or already broken. Parts are cheap, but you sure need them often.

I didnt buy this one. Any idea what it is? The tube size is 1.5 a very strong frame?

It's a Brister's Stinger X25. They just took the roll cage off and put some weird seats on it. The frame is thick!!!

Thanks Courts94s

I have never seen one, and was curious, the seller wanted $200 for it, it looked rough but solid built. like a tank.

That is was made in the late 90's, early 2000's.
My steering column was locked up. I had to cut it off to weld on a new one. That tube is almost 1/4 inch thick.

Update
The Tao Tao ATK125 is gone, off to her new home. It ended up needing a new stator, battery and a new clutch, nothing expensive. but all those little parts add up.

Now this free's up some space in the shop. Humm wonder if I should start the big block project?

For the business folks, I did turn a profit on the TAO, but I don't think I will buy another Tao buggy, there was a lot of little things that needed attention, horn, lights, brakes, battery, etc.etc. I think its best I stay with what I know and keep saving older style karts. So I'm off to craigslist in search of anther wreck.
