My buddy Paul Kedigh owns a small engine shop in Oklahoma City Oklahoma (Need To Fix on Sunnylane and SE 59th Street) and has teamed up with me to offer discount pricing on Comet products. Right now we are mainly focusing on Torque Converters and TAVs. He can also get pretty much anything you need for your kart. So if find an item you want let me know where you found it and the price they are selling it for and I will see if he can beat the price. of course it will have to be confirmed on the sellers website before we can beat the price. So let me know your needs and we will go from there. All new items will be drop shipped from our supplier to your door. We also hope to start offering you guys good deals on used engines and other used parts as we get them. Paul is also a State Certified Welder and is very proficient in TIG, ARC, and MIG. He can take on helping you build your frame of your design or even design and build you a custom frame.

*cough* SPAM *cough*

Just kidding!

Sounds great, it'd be awesome to get a TC for less than what some people sell it for.

Im just trying to help out my friend with some winter business since the small engine shop biz is slow right now with no one mowing grass right now. I promise Im not making a dime off of this. I get to use my friends shop and have access to his vast knowlege (that is all the payment I need cuz his shop is awesome) so if I can help him make a little bit of money and save you guys some dough Im pleased as punch. anyone can check me out with ebay and paypal to see that I am a straight shooter and honest seller.

So what would be the price on a TAV for a 1" shaft?

With a 1" shaft Jerry you have a couple of choices. What horsepower?? Depending on Horsepower you can go two ways. you could go with a TAV2 with 1" bore or if you are 8 horse and above you could go with a Series 40 with Symetric belt. I will check and see what would be the cheaper way to go and get the best performance. So let me know what motor/hp and we can go from there with price.

Guys I really apologize but I did not get the 2009 prices from Paul today. I finally got ahold of him a couple of hours ago and he said he will meet me for breakfast in the morning with the price sheets after I drop my kids off at school. I will get back to each one of you with the best answers I can supply and hopefully way better prices than the three places I have priced Comet products at lately. and hopefully next week instead of dealing with a wholesaler, Paul will be able to get stuff directly from Comet. He talked to a guy at Comet this afternoon and they submitted a packet to their management to make Paul a Comet Dealer. Which in turn can mean even better prices for me and you guys.

what about 145/70-6 tubes ?

I actually have about 4 of those on hand that are mine at Pauls shop. Let me check in the morning to see what I paid and I will see if I can sell some to you for a good price. I assume you need all four??? or did you just need one or two??

belt and price

to be honest until now I had never even heard of the Comet 780. I looked it up and man is that one sweet clutch!!!! I do not have a belt chart for the 780 right now. (so now I know I nheed one. If you need the belt quickly try Cart Parts Plus- here is their link http://www.cartpartsplus.com/comet-780-clutch.html Im sure you know this but belts size is determined from the distance from the center of shaft of driven to center of shaft of driver.

if you are willing to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday I can get you a price directly from Comet.

Ok guys here are the long awaited prices. I am only going to post prices for the Torque Converters right now and not belts because there are soooooo many belts.

20 Series

Driver 3/4" bore $63.88
Driver 1" bore $83.48

Driven 5/8" bore 6" diameter $72.48
Driven 5/8" bore 7" diameter $72.48
Driven 3/4" bore 6" diameter $65.
Driven 3/4" bore 7" diameter $72.48

30 Series

Driver 3/4" bore $63.21
Driver 1" bore $85.48

Driven 5/8" bore 6" diameter $66.29
Driven 5/8" bore 7" diameter $$66.29
Driven 3/4" bore 6" diameter $63.75
Driven 3/4" bore 7" diameter $72.20

40 Series silly me forgot to get 40 series prices. hopefully I will have later today.

On the TAV2 kits I really cannot save you guys any money right now. My cost is more than what gokartsupply.com sells them for. However as soon as Comet gets me and Paul set up as dealers I should get you guys a way better price on TAV2 kits.

as far as belts, jackshaft plates, and even individual parts to repair your Torque Converter, I can get all these as well. So if you decide you want to order some stuff, get me all the part numbers, your zip code, and any other things you might want and PM me or email me at jarcynvicnchris93@yahoo.com

Also if you are unsure of what you need email me pics of your current setup and an idea of what kind of riding you do (such as offroad with steep hills or level parking lot) and I will recomend the cheapest and most efficient way for you to go.

I kinda of became a little bit knowlegeable on Comet Torque Converters through my own personal trial and error with my karts and all my friends karts. So use my experiece free of charge. Hopefully I can help you guys out like many of you have helped me with advice on my kart.

tubes

well if you have four that would be great

Hey I finally got back to the shop and checked on the price and I dont think I can do you justice. even with my current cost gokartsupply has me beat. They only ask $8.99. I paid over $10 for each of mine and they are the same brand. here is the link for you. http://www.gokartsupply.com/tires.htm

Sorry I could not help you.

Oh and also I have not forgot you on the parts. but somehow one of my kids accidentally deleted your email and dumped the trash folder. So could you email me again so I can send you pics of the parts and motor I have???

thanks,
Jared :bannana:

I kinda thought the same thing after I wrote it... hahaha I belong to a jetski forum called greenhulk.net and on that forum everyone is always trying to help each other out by either saving money and even sometimes giving stuff away. I have seen guys help each other out on that forum by giving a fellow member a part if they pay the shipping. cuz just like karts after a while w/jetskis you end up having spare parts laying around from doing speed mods and other upgrades. I figure we all enjoy working on karts so why not help each other out anyway we can. have a good one.

Thanks Jared, the 780 is a very good clutch indeed (and looks even better), Today I measured the center to center distance between the driver and driven unit and it is about 9" so any belt near to that will work since I can adjust the driven unit's position so that the belt has the propper tension. I can wait unti wednesday for you to get the price for such belt.
