If you look in the introduction section you will see im a new member and know nothing about Karts. I want to build something similar to the one in the photo, its purpose is to teach new tail wheel pilots control and how to avoid ground loops.
It will have independent brakes probably disc, a tailwheel off a Piper Cub or similar, electric variable speed motor, rudder pedals connected to the tailwheel, some way to connect the motor output to the front axle, appropriate size wheels and tires.
I have no idea what I need specifically or where to buy them, I was thinking maybe an old golf cart motor and controller. It doesn’t need massive top speed, maybe 15mph.
I'm really looking for suggestions IMG_5983.jpeg

Hmm, would some higher speed actually benefit though, to simulate landing as well as taxiing and the runup to rotation?

I agree with Denny from your other post.
The back half of an electric golf cart would be a good start. It will have all the necessary parts.
It might have drum brakes but you could run the cable to the rudder pedals easily enough or swap the hubs to a disc brake style.
A dummy stick or yoke might be nice as to hold on to something and show that it doesn't do anything on the ground.

The throttle could easily be set to a slide like a cub. Or even have a dash mounted push pull like a cessna.

I showed this to a few pilot friends and they all loved the idea.

The drum brakes will give you all the stopping you need. No need for disc brakes and they are cable operated to boot! If you could find an old ez-go medalist early 70s to about 85 they are pre computer and will make your whole life easier. They have a top speed of about 12 mph. Stay away from the club car golf karts of that vintage. They had problems and would take off on their own while you are standing 20 feet or more away with the keys in your hand. :mad2: Hope this information helps.
