Tack weld or full weld

I only need a short answer if I put braces in my go kart frame should I tack weld or weld completely

:huh: Insufficient data. what are you trying to brace, and how are you trying to do it? We need details: without them, any answers we might attempt to provide are useless. Detailed photo's are also a good idea. When in doubt, take pictures and upload them with your questions.

Ok I'll take a photo today and I have a rectangle of angle iron put together and I need to put a brace in it of more angle iron in the center

Generally, any bead under an inch long (on a larger join of course) is considered a "tack". With that said, If your bracing were, for example- 1" steel- then a full bead is what you'd do- whether you want to call it a tack or not.

On the other hand, if you're just talking a couple of "spot-welds" on that same 1" member, then no- I would not generally consider that sufficient.
